Job Description
Job Summary:
 
The Branch Manager will contribute to the overall profitability and growth of American Bank by selling and servicing all bank products to new and existing customers according to established procedures and standards.  In addition, the employee will assist in the successful day-to-day operations of the branch office as a full service facility by providing direction and supervision for all branch retail personnel.
 
*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
 
The Branch Manager will participate in the development and retention of customer relationships by providing a consistent level of customer service through the following:                                                        
  • Actively solicit checking & savings accounts, ATM/Debit Cards, Internet banking and bill payment, certificates of deposit, IRAs, safe deposit, credit cards, Merchant Processing opportunities as well as cross promote lending services.
  • Responsible for opening and servicing checking, savings, ATM/Debit Cards, certificates of deposit, IRAs, safe deposit, and credit cards. 
  • Will be cross-trained to operate a teller terminal.Will be expected to substitute as a teller when needed to cover vacations, sickness, etc. 
  • Assist in the establishment and evaluation of consistent sales practices & procedures. 
  • In conjunction with or in absence of the Chief Operating Officer, conducts regular Branch Meetings and communicates retail sales objectives, goals and results.
  • As this position develops, the employee may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management.
  • Process overdrafts.Make decisions on refunding and waiving fees.
  •  Continuously review and adapt business practices to adhere to American Bank & Trust Strategic Objectives and Goals.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent required
  • Associates Degree or higher preferred
  • 5+ years of retail sales and/or banking experience preferred
  • 2+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable regarding all types of retail products offered by American Bank
  • Extensive knowledge ofbanking data processing systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proven analytical skills required
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills required
Equipment/Software:
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment such as personal computers, printers, scanners, calculators, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Willingness to become involved with professional and civic organizations that will enhance the Bank’s image and profitability.
  • Consistent with the bank’s marketing objectives and policies set forth in the Community Reinvestment Act statement, take an active role in the community.

  • Hire, train and mentor direct reports by making sound hiring decisions, training each new hire and current staff as needed and continually mentor staff in order to assist in the successful performance of your direct report(s). 
  • Address performance and behavior issues in a timely manner.Work with Human Resources regarding each issue/incident and follow through with appropriate action.Approach each issue fairly and consistently in order to reduce Bank risk.
