Job Description
IIW, P.C. (IIW) is a multi-disciplined firm providing creative and innovative solutions in architecture, engineering, land surveying, and construction services to public and private clients. IIW has over 75 employees with its corporate headquarters in Dubuque, Iowa; branch offices in Davenport, Iowa and St. Cloud, Minnesota; and satellite offices in Hazel Green, Wisconsin and the Fox Cities, Wisconsin.

This position provides the opportunity to lead design and business development endeavors at IIW, P.C.’s Davenport, Iowa Office. IIW fosters a team oriented atmosphere, emphasizing quality client service and long term client relationships. Mentoring, continuing education and professional development is emphasized for all of our staff. This is a full-time position in our Davenport office.

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who excels at project management and is looking to expand into leading a design team. The right person will have exceptional technical skills in the areas of land development, structural design, or municipal engineering. This person will also excel at business development in the Quad Cities area.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
> Minimum 6 years of practical experience in design of public and/or private projects.
> Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
> Current Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Iowa with the capability of obtaining multi-state licensure.
> Practical knowledge of codes, ordinances and regulatory requirements related to project design.
> Experience in contract negotiation, project management, financial management, and business development.
> Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Revit platform.
> Effective communication with staff, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
> Proven success with selling, managing and executing projects

PROJECT RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical
> Engineer of Record and Project Manager.
> Lead public and client meetings.
> Responsible for project quality assurance.
> Oversee submittal of regulatory agency permit applications.
> Oversee development of studies and reports.
> Oversee preparation of detailed drawings and specifications.
> Oversee construction submittal reviews.
> Remain up-to-date in technical and regulatory aspects of discipline.
> Provide technical mentoring to engineering and technical staff for employee development and perpetuation of expertise, including project management

Business Development & Marketing
> Develop, foster, and maintain strong and close client relationships with present and potential clients.
> Represent IIW at interviews, meetings, etc.
> Lead development of proposals and statements of qualifications for prospective projects.
> Maintain professional relationships with other principals, company personnel, regulatory agencies, and other consultants.
> Foster the Company’s culture by maintaining appropriate contact with the public, clients, and employees, in order to promote and protect the company's interests.
