Job Description
The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking a Government Affairs Coordinator. The Government Affairs Coordinator will carry out work in the areas of advocacy, government affairs, public policy, and political action committees (PAC). Time commitment expected is 40 hours/week.

This position is full-time and reports to the Director, Government Affairs.

Essential Functions to be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation:

• Government Affairs supports work related to economic development, business growth, downtowns and Q2030
• Manage and assist with the day-to-day tasks relating to the Quad Cities Chamber Advocacy efforts
• Support the Government Affairs team, Business Advocacy Council (BAC), Illinois Growth PAC, Iowa Growth PAC, Defense Alliance, and Air Service Committee
• Develop and implement the annual public policy agenda with the Advocacy team
• Assist on advocacy related to the Rock Island Arsenal
• Actively track legislation, agendas, and minutes for different levels of government
• Visit and meet with local elected officials on various matters, as needed
• Occasional travel, as needed, on behalf of the Organization and members
• Work alongside staff to implement special projects and initiatives
• Work toward continuous quality improvement
• Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Political Science, Public Policy, or Business Administration, or closely degree preferred
• Experience in Government or lobbying a plus
• Professional, service-oriented attitude
• Experience in Microsoft Office is required
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently
• Dependable and flexible

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary range: $30,000 - $38,000, depending on experience
