Job Description
Come join the excitement at the newest hotel to open in Moline, the Element!  We are looking for an Operations Manager who will oversee the front desk, housekeeping, and food service departments.  It will be your responsibility to effectively attend to guests, supervisors and staff while keeping the hotel running smoothly and maximizing profits. 
We are looking for energetic and vibrant employees who can deliver prompt, efficient, and courteous service to our guests......the right candidate who enjoys creating a personal connection and provide an unforgettable experience for our guests.
What will you be doing?
 
  • Ensure proper scheduling of all employees.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and ensure proper training of new employees.
  • Provide staff with the skills training to provide value-added hospitality services to guests.
  • Proactively sign-up for and attend relevant corporate training courses.
  • Conduct coaching and counseling and take disciplinary action as needed in compliance with the hotel’s policies and procedure.
  • Ensure safety training program and safety compliance in all areas of the hotel.
  • Develop, maintain and promote relationships inter-departmentally across the company as well as with outside vendors and carriers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve front desk retail sales and upgrade goals.
  • Control costs by adhering to standards of operations for forecasting, budgeting, scheduling payroll control and other expense management systems.
  • Ensure that the resort’s operating costs are within budgetary guidelines and hold department heads responsible for their respective areas as assigned by the general manager.
  • Proactively address any and all issues that could negatively affect overall hotel quality and seek methods to improve efficiency, cost savings and overall quality.
  • Perform all other job requests as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Effectively handle and fulfill all guest requests and issues.
     
    What do we require?
     
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Ensure that a member of management is available for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a department head (or equivalent) in a hotel.
  • Must have professional appearance.
