Job Description
The Inside Sales Representative maintains, grows and services primarily existing, and occasionally, new accounts in an assigned territory, primarily utilizing phone, fax and electronic communications. Has additional accountability to proactively identify sales opportunities for Outside Sales Reps, create opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell existing accounts, re-activate inactive accounts and/or identify new account opportunities. Partners closely with Outside Sales Representatives to establish strong, long-term relationships with customers and confidence in Olympic Steel’s overall capabilities.

• 2 years of prior work experience in an applicable customer sales/service role, preferably in the steel industry.
• Strong customer service and sales aptitude, with prior steel industry and product knowledge highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while also managing individual goals and objectives.
• Proficiency in Lotus Notes, MS Word, PowerPoint Excel applications and Olympic’s computer systems a plus.
• Strong business, math, analytical, organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking and planning skills desired.
