GalaxyOne Wins Initial DISH Cares Ambassador of the Year Award
Bettendorf, Iowa – Since GalaxyOne was founded in 1994, the company has always prided itself in serving its customers and its communities with the utmost care.
The Bettendorf-based business, which is a family-owned and operated affiliate of DISH, now is being nationally recognized for its extensive community involvement.
GalaxyOne just captured the inaugural DISH Cares Ambassador of the Year award at Team Summit in Orlando, Fla. Team Summit is a national conference that DISH hosts each year for its retailers.
One of three nationwide premier DISH retailers to be nominated for the new award, GalaxyOne edged Microcom and Dudley Satellite for the honor. Microcom is headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska and Dudley Satellite is located in Caldwell, Ohio.
Out of 100 leading and authorized DISH retailers throughout the country, which represents the top two percent of all retailers, GalaxyOne established itself as the top organization by spearheading four community initiatives during the fourth quarter of 2017.
These community fundraisers included participating in the Day of Service and Holiday Toy Drive. For the Day of Service event, the GalaxyOne team spent half a day filling 3,000 backpacks with food for impoverished children who otherwise would starve during the weekend without access to school lunches.
For the Holiday Toy Drive, GalaxyOne utilized its office as a drop-off center for Toys for Tots and incorporated the campaign into a radio remote for Small Business Saturday on November 25. Furthermore, GalaxyOne also sponsored an outreach project organized by the local River Bend Foodbank in December.
Dennis and Marcia Voss, the owners of GalaxyOne, strive to support causes that benefit children and aid families by tackling educational, poverty, hunger and health issues.
“We feel that it is important to share our blessings with others in need in our community, our family, our church and our world,” Dennis and Marcia said.
