Nate Clark\, John Deere Foundation and newly named national Afterschool Alliance Ambassador\, will talk about the local project with the United Way\, Lights on Afterschool\, and what he's doing to help young people develop into successful adults. The research is unequivocal that afterschool programs help students in the Quad Cities make the right decisions by inspiring learning\, providing safe and supportive environments\, and giving students the essential supports they need to succeed in school and beyond. Yet for every 1 child in an afterschool program\, there are 2 waiting to get in. In his presentation\, Nate will share more about the importance of afterschool programming\, including the presence of exceptional afterschool programs in the Quad Cities.
