SUMMARY:CANCELLED Hub Huddle:Demystification of CT Scans
DESCRIPTION:Hub Huddles are an opportunity for manufacturing leaders to share\, on a peer-to-peer basis\, best practices for growth and strategies to overcoming challenges.\n\n\n\n"Demystification" of CT scans\n\nPresented by David Utrata\, Iowa State University\n\n \n\nComputed tomography also known as CT scans or CAT scans in the medical world has applications within the manufacturing realm as well. Join us for the next Hub Huddle when David Utrata from Iowa State University gives a user-friendly overview of industrial radiography (X-rays) and CTs\, including an understanding of the pros and cons of this commercially available technology technique as well as how/where to get them and what to expect.\n\n \n\nThis discussion is ideal for any company that could use X-rays to examine their products simply for understanding or even for quality control. The technique could have applications for injection molders\, casting houses\, or assemblers of products with complicated interiors\, if not for production\, for process control and proof of principle.\n\n \n\nAbout our speaker:\n\nDave Utrata has been in the nondestructive evaluation group of technical assistance at Iowa State University for 24 years. In that capacity\, he has worked with hundreds of manufacturers across Iowa on a large variety of inspection and quality control issues. Prior to that\, he was Senior Research Metallurgist at the Association of American Railroads technical Center in Chicago for 14 years. His degrees are in Metallurgical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.\n\n\n\n\n\nTime will be provided for Q & A and networking with other attendees.\n\n \n\nThis event is free to attend. Please register at quadcitieschamber.com or by calling 563.823.2676.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n	\n \n This program is presented by the Quad Cities Chamber's Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub and the Defense Industry Adjustment Program. \n \n	\n\n\n \n\nLeading Organizations:\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nAcknowledgment:This content was prepared as part of the Illinois Defense Industry Adjustment Program\, a partnership between the University of Illinois System\, the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce\, and the Voorhees Center at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)\, with financial support from the U.S. Department of Defense\, Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA).
