DESCRIPTION:Overview of Funding Available for Lean 5S Training & Project Mentoring\n\nPresented by Marc Schneider\, Iowa State University CIRAS Lean Specialist\n\n\n\n5S is one of the first tools that can be applied in a manufacturing environment to improve production through Lean Manufacturing techniques. 5S implementation helps to define the first rules to eliminate waste and maintain an efficient\, safe\, and organized manufacturing environment. 5S helps to streamline production and optimize efficiencies.\n\n\n\nNot sure how Lean and 5S can benefit your company? Make plans to attend this information session featuring Marc Schneider\, Lean Specialist from CIRAS\, who will give a brief overview of the training and project mentoring funding available to our region's businesses through the Illinois Defense Industry Adjustment Program grant. Time will be provided both before and afterward for networking. \n\n\n\nThe Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub has partnered with CIRAS to offer "Implementing a 5S Lean Manufacturing Program" to the first five companies that express interest and meet eligibility requirements.  Funding for the workshop and follow-up mentoring is provided through the Illinois DIA Program\, of which the Hub is a part. The main objective of the workshop is to provide each company with the foundation for implementing the concepts of 5S and Workplace Organization throughout their facility.  This will be accomplished through 5S training sessions\, team meeting facilitation\, 5S implementation visits and 5S coaching.
