DESCRIPTION:Please help us celebrate the Herbert Hoover Elementary School Addition with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting on Thursday\, August 23rd at 5:00pm.  Located at 3223 S. Hampton – turn N on Hampton by Fire Station on Spruce Hills.  Herbert Hoover’s $2.8M\,  12\,530 sq. ft. addition\, added a commons area/cafeteria\, three kindergarten classrooms and one preschool classroom onto the southwest corner of the school.  The project was funded through the Physical Plant &  Equipment Levy (PPEL)\, SAVE (Secure an Advanced Vision for Education) Fund State Sales/Use Tax for School Infrastructure and the district’s general fund. Herbert Hoover Elementary was built in 1966.  Today it serves approximately 425 prekindergarten through fifth grade students.  The groundbreaking for the new addition took place on October 25\, 2011.  The new areas were finished in time for the start of the 2012-2013 school year\, August 15\, 2012.
