SUMMARY:Hub: Are you digital ready? New requirements for doing business with large equipment manufacturers
DESCRIPTION:Large equipment manufacturers' needs from their suppliers are constantly evolving in response to geopolitical\, economical\, commercial\, and technological factors. What has historically been called best-in-class eventually becomes a mere baseline expectation. Suppliers must constantly be looking for ways to differentiate themselves to provide a unique value to their customers in order to stay relevant. \n\n \n\nDuring this event James Merten\, Manager\, Achieving Excellence from John Deere\, will walk through the current expectations of large (original) equipment manufacturers like Deere\, discuss how we see that evolving over the next several years\, and explore resources available to you through the Quad Cities Chamber to help position yourself as a preferred supplier to these large customers.\n\n\n\nThe evening will also include a panel discussion featuring computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) professionals to field questions about varying aspects of your company's journey to become a digital-ready supplier.\n\n\n\nRepresentatives from the Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub also will preview the CAD/CAM playbook\, a how-to guide for technology implementation\, which will be released in October. The playbook will focus on computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing best practices and how you can incorporate 3-D technologies to impact your business.\n\n\n\nAfterwards\, attendees are invited to tour the John Deere equipment display floor!\n\n\n\nThis program is presented by the Quad Cities Chamber's Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub and the Defense Industry Adjustment Program.\n\n\n\nLeading organizations:\n\n\n\nAcknowledgment: This content was prepared as part of the Illinois Defense Industry Adjustment Program\, a partnership between the University of Illinois System\, the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce\, and the Voorhees Center at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)\, with financial support from the U.S. Department of Defense\, Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA).
