DESCRIPTION:The Quad-City Sports Hall of Fame\, 209 S. Gaines St.\, Davenport\, IA 52802 will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday\, May 6 at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate its new permanent location. The Quad-City Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1987 as a way to honor those who have made the greatest contributions to sports in the two-state region. In each year since then\, at least three people have been added to the Hall of Fame in voting by a panel of about 80 people\, including local media and sports officials and past inductees into the Hall. The honorees are recognized each spring at the Salute to Sports\, hosted by the Quad-City Times. Modern Woodmen Park will be its new permanent location.
