SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting and Member Mob - Mississippi River Distilling Company & Cody Road Cocktail House
DESCRIPTION:Mississippi River Distilling Company\, 303 North Cody Road\, LeClaire\, Iowa will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday\, July 26 at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate their expansion and achievement of becoming the first distillery in the state to be licensed to sell cocktails since prohibition!\n\n \n\nAs one of the top issues on the Quad Cities Chamber's legislative priorities for the past five years\, the Mississippi River Distilling Company (MRDC)\, and many other state-wide partners have been working tirelessly to convince lawmakers to update Prohibition-era regulations that prevented Iowa distilleries from serving their product by the glass. With House File 607 passed\, MRDC was the first native distiller to obtain their special license\, which took effect on July 1\, 2017.\n\n \n\n**Following the ribbon cutting\, the Chamber will be inviting the community to participate in a "Member Mob." Join us in LeClaire to celebrate the new law\, the transformation of Mississippi River Distilling Company and the opening of Cody Road Cocktail House. The menu includes 20 mixed cocktails as well as a monthly featured drink\, pulling from an archive of about 1\,000 recipes on the distillery's website.
