DESCRIPTION:Exelon Generation\, 22710 206th Ave. North Cordova\, IL 61242\, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday\, June 29 at 9am in celebration of a completed multimillion-dollar expansion of the nuclear plant's Professional Learning Center.\n\n \n\nThe new addition added more than 36\,000 square feet to the existing structure and will allow the station to retire older\, temporary buildings that require more frequent maintenance. It will also provide a modern and professional learning environment for the supplemental workers who support the plant\, especially during annual refuel outages.\n\n \n\nFor this $7 million construction project\, Exelon Generation partnered with Burling Builders\, Inc.\, an African American-owned\, Chicago-based firm that has successfully completed similar facilities in Illinois. Burling subcontracted with multiple Quad Cities-based companies for portions of this work throughout the project.
