DESCRIPTION:Gilda's Club will host a ribbon cutting on Wednesday\, October 19th at 4:00 pm to celebrate their expansion. They are located in the Genesis West Pavilion 1 North Entrance. Please enter the main hospital north entrance and take the elevators behind the staircase or\, take the stairs to the 2nd floor of Pavilion 1. They are located at the top of the stairs on the 2nd floor\, directly above the Cancer Care Institute.\n\n\n\nThis is the 2nd phase of their expansion. They now have locations on both sides of the river\, near each cancer center within each local hospital system. This expansion allows them to be more accessible to patients and their family members as a supplement to the great medical care available in our area.\n\n\n\nGilda's Club is an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community and offers a variety of professionally led programs designed to assist those in our community impacted by cancer including support groups\, educational programs\, healthy lifestyle activities\, social events as well as providing resources and referrals. Whether you're a patient\, family member\, friend\, loved one\, or caregiver\, they provide something for every age group and life situation throughout the entire cancer journey\, including children\, teen\, and families affected by cancer. Best of all\, their programs are offered at no cost to anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis. With 175 locations worldwide\, the Quad City community is very fortunate to have a Gilda's Club here as most are available in large cities such as Chicago\, Nashville\, Detroit\, Los Angeles\, and Indianapolis.
