Program volunteers include retired nurses\, educators\, health managers\, journalists\, as well as college students and other professionals who together have more than 500 years of experience working with children. These volunteers donate more than 3\,000 hours every year to support this nonsectarian program. While the main focus continues to be free after-school tutoring and mentoring to youth in need\, SFLC strives to ensure that the families that SFLC serves have access to additional resources that will help their children succeed.
