This put disadvantaged children at risk for academic failure and continued the cycle of poverty as working parents who were unable to afford quality\, safe care for their children would not make reliable and focused employees. Today\, Skip-a-long Child Development Services is comprised of three campuses in two states. The non-profit organization also manages the Home Child Care Network\, which works with home child care providers in the Illinois Quad Cities and Peoria areas and helps families who need child care during nontraditional hours.
