DESCRIPTION:Davenport Community Schools/Truman Elementary School\, 5506 North Pine Street\, Davenport\, IA 52806\, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday\, September 25 at 4:30 p.m.   The ceremony will celebrate the complete interior renovation of Truman Elementary school\, which was completed this past summer.  The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m. followed by an open house from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.   The interior of the building was completely remodeled with the Media Center (school library) as the focal point of the building.  Students still have spacious classrooms\, as well as rooms dedicated to art and music\, a newly remodeled stage with lighting and sound\, and a geothermal heating/cooling system.  The renovation also allows for the future growth of neighborhoods in this area of Davenport.   The nearly $7 million renovation was complete in time for the start of the 2014-2015 school year.
