As an Associate Planner and ED Specialist he led efforts for downtown revitalization and other economic development efforts for the City of Las Cruces as project manager for long-range strategic plans\, incentive programs and various community relations projects. He is an alumnus of New Mexico State University where he played Division 1 tennis and received his master's in applied geography.
