RESPONSIBILITIES: This position serves as a representative of Western Illinois University Office of Financial Aid. At this level the employee provides assistance in carrying out the technical functions in the management of student financial-aid programs. This position assists in the review of all forms received and preparing necessary forms including assisting with the completion of the online financial aid application (FAFSA) process, and also provides information on a Financial Aid Award offer, loan process, and status of application, disbursement procedure, satisfactory progress requirements and appeal process, cost of attendance, and out-of-pocket expenses.

WORK LOCATION: Macomb campus

APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible

HOURLY WAGE: $17.01 - $18.71 (anticipated starting salary $17.01)

Job Requirements:

1. Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:

A. College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

*30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)

*Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)

*90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

*Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

B. Work experience performing office, business, or customer/relations activities.

2. One (1) year (12 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). The degree must be conferred at the time of application.
