About Us

The Iowa Interstate Railroad operates over a rail line that runs from Chicago to the Quad Cities, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and then on to Council Bluffs. We also operate a branch to Peoria, IL.

We link the agricultural, industrial, and governmental customers of Iowa and Illinois to North American and global markets by means of the numerous connection points with all seven major U.S. and Canadian railroads. These interchanges with all the major railroads, as well as many smaller, local railroads, allow customers flexibility and more competitive pricing.

Iowa Interstate Railroad offers single-car, unit train, and intermodal services. For customers that do not have their own private track, transloading between trucks and railcars can be arranged. Additionally, we service two river ports, Davenport, IA and Peoria, IL.
