NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley

Mental Health

About Us

NAMI is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mental health conditions and their families. We empower them toward recovery and behavioral health. NAMI does not provide treatment or counseling; rather the organization focuses on education, advocacy and support.

NAMI offers programming for individuals and families, and can provide programming to workplaces/employers. Our Family and Friends Seminar is designed to explain diagnoses, treatment and recovery; effective communication strategies; the importance of self-care; crisis preparation; and community resources.

NAMI GMV is also an organization that delivers the "Make it OK" presentation, designed to help reduce stigma around mental illness. It informs people what and what not to say to someone who has shared that they have a mental illness.
