We have built the largest commercial roofing business in Northwestern Illinois by putting people first. We put our people first through safety. To us, customers are people, and we put them first through service and quality.


Founded in 1986, Sterling Commercial Roofing is the choice of quality-minded decision makers at businesses and organizations of all sizes across Northern Illinois, Eastern Iowa and Southern Wisconsin.

Our motto, “Safety the Only Choice,” says it all. As a people-focused company, our employees’ safety is our first priority. We also see our customers as people, and we don’t let them down. Whether it’s a 100,000-plus square-foot re-roof or a small leak repair, we dedicate ourselves to completing the job safely, when we say we will, at the cost we quote and with superior workmanship, every time.
Safety the only choice.

We have made a serious commitment to safety at all levels. All employees are required to have 10 hours of OSHA Construction training and all foremen and project managers are required to have 30 hours of OSHA construction training.

We partner with Safety Check to oversee our safety operations. We require daily pre-job task cards, and employees participate in morning and lunch time stretches, all to ensure that they are prepared for the tasks at hand. Every job presents its own safety challenges. We perform a job hazard analysis on all projects prior to the start, with a detailed safety plan specifically designed for each project.
