2nd Annual #GivingTuesday

The Ridgecrest Village is a nonprofit 501©3 organization that in part is assisted from their very own Foundation. The Ridgecrest Foundation is also a 501©3organization that is housed right in the Village. Located at 4130 Northwest Boulevard in Davenport Iowa, on a beautiful 22-acre campus. Ridgecrest Village houses seniors over 62 years of age in independent living, assisted living and 24-hour nursing care.
The Ridgecrest Foundations mission is to support the Village and residents along with other external mission supported local community members and organizations. The Ridgecrest Foundation is participating in #GivingTuesday for the second year. “#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. It enables us to unleash the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. People can show their generosity in a variety of ways during #GivingTuesday – whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts ("GivingTuesday,”2 020).”
Currently, the Ridgecrest Foundation is raising funds with companies like Lend a Hand Organization (401 W 3rd St, Davenport, IA 52801) for two wheelchair bikes for #GivingTuesday. The wheelchair bikes will enable our residents to travel around our campus inside and out without exhaustion. Both bikes are powered electrically if the driver wants to just take a ride. One bike will have a spot for the residents to place their wheelchair. The other bike will allow residents, who are capable and choose to, sit down for their ride. The bikes will be purchased in early 2021.
