The U.S. Army will release millions of dollars in government contracts this summer through its EAGLE program, presenting Quad Cities businesses with a tremendous opportunity to become a government contractor.
The Quad Cities Chamber, in partnership with the Illinois and Iowa Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC), will host a two-part training seminar called A Chance to Meet EAGLE to provide local businesses with an overview of the bidding process.
EAGLE stands for Enhanced Global Logistics Enterprise Program. All purchasing for the U.S. Army in the areas of maintenance, logistics and transportation and supplies will go through EAGLE, and it will all be managed by the Army Sustainment Command on the Rock Island Arsenal.
Small businesses in particular can benefit from EAGLE. Contracts with annual values ranging from $1 million to $35 million will be set aside specifically for small businesses.
