Description
This training program is for Disaster Site Workers who provide, or may provide, skilled support services (e.g. utility, demolition, debris removal, hazardous materials response, or heavy equipment operation) or site clean-up services in response to natural and manmade disasters. Specifically, it is recognized that all workers at disaster sites need to be aware of the differences between disaster sites and regular construction or demolition worksites and be able to inspect, don, and doff air-purifying respirators. Also, the program will provide awareness to management and labor that pre-incident training is essential for ensuring disaster site workers' safety and health. Workers, supervisors, and managers tasked with providing support to first responders and cleanup operations need training and access to information that is timely and relevant in order to facilitate a safe and efficient disaster response operation. This is a shortened version of the 15-Hour Disaster Site Worker course. (* Pre-requisite: Completion of the 10- or 30-hour OSHA Construction or General Industry Outreach Training. OSHA's Disaster Site Worker courses do not cover in detail the safety and health hazards that occur on a daily basis on a normal worksite.) Section #186193.
