Edge Business Series: Legal marijuana - Will there be a haze in your workplace?
Three months from now people over 21 may legally use cannabis for recreational purposes in the Illinois Quad Cities, but how will the new law have an impact on employment and workplace drug policies?
To address possible unknowns for employers, the Quad Cities Chamber is hosting a panel discussion at 12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at TaxSlayer Center in Moline.
The panel will cover a host of issues related to cannabis regulation, including the following:
- Drug-free and zero-tolerance policies
- Cannabis use while ?on call? and outside of working hours
- Drug testing (pre-employment and random)
- Worker?s compensation insurance
- Cannabis use in Iowa
