Description
First Impressions and the Future of the Quad City International Airport featuring Ben Leischner, Executive Director.
Ben Leischner, Executive Director of the Quad City International Airport has been on board for 9 months. Hear his first impressions along with new opportunities for our airport. If you’re wondering what the future of air service is for the Quad Cities, this is your opportunity to learn more. In addition, Ben will identify what it means to our economy when you fly local. Finally, he will give an update on the projects he’s tackled to date.
Ben leads the Quad City International Airport as the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Rock Island County. Ben has oversight of airport strategy including air service development, capital planning, and revenue performance management for roughly $250 million in assets and value at the Airport.
Prior to his current role as Executive Director, Ben managed airport resources for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; which, at the time, was ranked the fastest growing large airport in the United States, with nearly 50 million passengers each year. Ben has a successful history of incorporating emerging technologies in the development of innovative solutions to standard aviation industry problems. Ben is a licensed commercial pilot, aircraft owner, and has served as an industry expert on multiple national aviation committees such as the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Operations, Safety, and Planning Committee. Ben has an undergraduate degree in Aviation Management and Flight Operations from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Master’s of Public Administration (MPA) in Aviation Policy from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.
