Post-Election Political Horizon
With one of the most hotly contested presidential races in our nation's history behind us, we are now looking to the horizon at how anticipated policy changes will impact business and the economy. During the December Executives Club, our local political pundits will share their insights about the electorate, what new political dynamics mean for our communities and what businesses in our region should prepare for as inauguration day nears.
Steve Grubbs,
Victory Enterprises
Steve Grubbs founded Victory Enterprises in 1997 which specializes in comprehensive political and corporate consulting and communications. Victory Enterprises has consulted dozens of political campaigns since its inception. Steve previously served as the Chair of the Iowa Republican Party.
Robin Johnson,
Host of "Talking Politics"
Robin Johnson is the Host of "Talking Politics" on KBUR in Burlington, Iowa. He's a part-time faculty member of the Political Science Department at Monmouth College and works as a political, governmental relations and public policy consultant.
Ed Tibbetts,
Quad-City Times
Ed Tibbetts is a veteran political reporter who has covered political figures ranging from mayors to presidents. He has written extensively about Iowa's first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses, covering every caucus since 1996. He followed the 2016 election closely as a reporter with the Quad-City Times where he also writes about demographic trends in Iowa and issues in the Quad Cities.
Dr. Christopher Whitt,
Associate Professor and Chair,
Department of Political Science
Dr. Whitt is a Political Analyst for KWQC, providing on camera analysis of political and governmental issues and consulting with producers on story ideas and angles for coverage. He also offers political analysis and commentary on the Quad Cities' NPR affiliate, WVIK. Over the years, Dr. Whitt has become a prominent voice in political conversation well outside the region, even providing analysis internationally for France24's English broadcast.
