Description
Good Samaritan Society - Cook Legacy Villages, 100 S. Pine St. Davenport, IA 52802, will host a press conference and grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 30 at 1:30 p.m. The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, the new owner of the former Clarissa C. Cook Retirement Home, has repurposed the 35 room mansion, originally built to provide communal living to indigent women, into 9 complete, individual and unique apartments for seniors in our community age 55 and above. They have maintained as much historical integrity of the building as possible while adding modern amenities. The Clarissa C. Cook home was donated to the Good Samaritan Society, which already offers long-term care, senior living and other services in Davenport, in 2013. They currently own and operate more than 240 long-term healthcare centers and senior living communities across the country, including Good Samaritan Society –Davenport.
