Description
Using 3-D Printing on the Front Lines and Supply Lines
Presented by Timothy Phillis, Lead General Engineer, Army Special Projects Team
The U.S. military sees additive manufacturing (3-D printing) as a game changer in logistics and manufacturing as well as equipment design. Come hear how the military is engaged in promoting the use of 3-D printing and how they believe it will enable new ways of operating on the front lines and the supply lines.
Pizza will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the program to start at 6 p.m. We look forward to seeing you!
About the speaker
Tim is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in General Engineering and St. Ambrose University with an MBA. Tim has held a variety of positions in product design and development, including sales and marketing, research and development and project management. He is currently Lead General Engineer for the Army Special Projects team, which focuses on transforming soldier requirements into maintenance systems, and Project Officer for Expeditionary Additive Manufacturing Systems.
He truly enjoys the engineering process in developing new products, working with a team to accomplish the project deliverables and mentoring younger engineers. He and his wife, Kat, enjoy running, traveling and volunteering at church.
About the Additive Manufacturing Users Group
Additive Manufacturing technology will change the face of manufacturing by replacing future processes and is on pace to emerge as an established trend on shop floors. The Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub has developed a Technology Roadmap of eight transformative technologies; one of these -- Additive Manufacturing -- has been identified as a breakthrough opportunity that will have an impact on our region's competitiveness. To accelerate our region's learning and investment, an Additive Manufacturing Users Group has been formed.
Why attend? Hear from local experts on best practices of this state-of-the-art technology. No matter what your knowledge level, this night will offer an opportunity to build your understanding of this game-changing technology and its business benefits.
