Increasing Productivity and Decreasing Turnover: A Potential Solution to Workforce Issues
Presented by Rudy Pruszko
Iowa State University - Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS)
This presentation will explore how manufacturers can address workforce issues by using Training Within Industry (TWI) tools to:
- Improve productivity by leveraging continuous improvement programs for maximum benefit
- Retain employees by increasing job satisfaction and morale and creating a safe working environment
- Reduce training times for new employees and capture the knowledge and experience of retiring employees
Training Within Industry (TWI) is a dynamic program of hands-on learning and practice, teaching essential skills for supervisors, team leaders and anyone who directs the work of others. TWI is an element of continuous improvement programs around the world including the Toyota Production System.
