Description

Now more than ever, computers and technology play a key role in our lives. From powering business and industry to keeping families close, we depend on computers for nearly every aspect of our day-to-day routines. Of course, trained Information Technology professionals play a key role in making it all possible.

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges invites anyone interested in this high-demand field to learn more about the college’s programs and IT careers at our December 6 Virtual Info Session beginning at 6 p.m., online via Zoom.

To join in on the session, visit eicc.edu/itinfo and click on the link during the designated day and time.

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges prepares students to enter the field of Information Technology with hands-on programs in Virtual and Augmented Reality, Cybersecurity, Networking for Systems and Security, Programming and Web Development. The programs can be completed in-person, entirely online or with a mix of the two delivery methods, making it easy for students to work earning a certificate, diploma or degree around busy schedules. Topics covered at the info session will include the college’s programs, careers in the field, steps to enroll and more.

Plus, new students who enroll this spring will receive their first class, worth up to three-credit-hours, for FREE! Students who have enrolled with us in the past but have spent some time away are also eligible. That means students could take our intro course - Foundations of Augmented and Virtual Reality - for free. It's a great way to explore both AVR design and programming in an interactive, hands-on environment, and to find out if a career in information technology tech is right for them. Students must enroll by December 17 to qualify.

In addition, because they are considered high-demand by the state of Iowa, when students enroll in these programs they can have their tuition paid through the state’s Last Dollar Program. All they have to do is file the FAFSA and the state covers the remaining balance beyond the aid for which they are eligible. Even if they receive no federal or state aid, the program will pay the entire tuition of Iowa residents.
