InternQC | YPQC Day of Service + Quad Citizen Bus Tour

Headquartered in East Moline, Illinois, Living Lands & Waters is a 501 (c)(3) environmental organization that Quad Citizen Chad Pregracke established at the mere age of 23. Since the organization was founded in 1998, Living Lands & Waters has grown to be the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization like it in the world. Today, the organization has grown to include a full staff and fleet of equipment and Chad has gained national recognition with his many accolades, including 2013 CNN Hero of the Year. 

This Day of Service will be in support of Living Lands & Waters MillionTrees Project. The MillionTrees Project was initiated in 2007 to help further LL&W mission to protect, preserve and restore the natural environment of our nation’s major rivers and their watersheds. Our mission is to not only clean up the riverways, but to also enhance the watershed by planting native trees and removing invasive plants. We will meet at LL&W tree nursery located in Davenport, IA.

Volunteers will spread out throughout the various tree beds to help clear weeds from trees.  Pulled vegetation will be wheelbarrowed to compost pile in back of nursery.  Volunteers will be provided drinking water, sunscreen, bug spray, gloves, stools/knee pads and lunch!  We ask that everyone wear closed toed shoes and light colored clothing to stay cool.  Hats and sunglasses are recommended.

After a day of giving back, we'll take you on bus tour guided by young Quad Citizens who will show you how easy it is to get around to each of our downtowns and can give you the low-down on where to find the best shopping, eats, and nightlife in the Quad Cities.
