Pet Supplies Plus will host a ribbon cutting on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 4:00pm.  The business is located at 3280 Middle Road in Bettendorf, IA (in the former Bettendorf Office Products building, near Hy-Vee)
 
Locally-owned company focused on offering local pet parents a hassle-free way to find better products for their pets, while saving them money and celebrating the fun of pet ownership.  In addition, the store will offer amenities such as grooming, self-pet wash stations, a knowledgeable pet care team, delivery and carry-out service in which team members carry heavy items to neighbors’ cars. The store is owned by Tom Bernau of Bernau Capital Group and is operated by Iowa native Suzy Schweer who originally owned the local pet stores. Originally from the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, Suzy opened her first Pet Supplies Plus in 2016 in her hometown. Since then, Schweer has grown her Pet Supplies Plus stores across the state of Iowa reaching from the state capitol of Des Moines to the newest location in Bettendorf. As a community partner, Schweer will team up with local animal shelters, rescue organizations, and non-profits to host year-round adoption events, fundraisers, and pet food and product drives.  “I am excited to bring a fantastic community-based pet store to Bettendorf," said Schweer. "We absolutely love being a part of the Quad Cities community already with our store in Davenport, our ultimate goal is to have locations for all of our Iowa neighbors to have access to great pet care across the state."  To welcome the community, Suzy, will host a weekend long grand opening event. Beginning Saturday, June 8th, and continuing through Sunday, June 9th, the new Pet Supplies Plus will offer special prize giveaways, fun games, sale prices and more. • Saturday, June 8 – Sunday, June 9: Neighbors have a shot at winning a complimentary, one-year supply of Redford Natural’s dry dog or dry cat food. Vote for your favorite rescue so they can win a cash prize.
• Saturday, June 8 – Sunday, June 9: Pet Supplies Plus Bettendorf will give out coupons offering complimentary nail trims and pet washes for pets. There will be cotton candy, popcorn, games and prizes all weekend.
• Saturday, June 8: Mystery scratch cards, between the amounts of $5-$10, will be given to neighbors throughout the day. Join us for cookies and your furry friend can bob for hot dogs.
• Sunday, June 9: The first 100 neighbors who enter the store will receive a coupon for a free, small bag of dog or cat food – valid on any brand within the store. Join us for tattoos, face painting, games, and hourly events.
