Join us for a roundtable discussion focusing on how restaurants and bar businesses have fared and pivoted during the pandemic. This roundtable will focus on what three proactive, progressive local, independent bar/restaurant owners have done to survive during the post-shutdown period (changes, pivots, lessons learned) as well as their plans for the challenges that they will face as we move into fall/winter with a COVID resurgence (based on potentially permanent changes in market conditions and customer behavior). Program includes opportunity for Q & A.
Guest roundtable panel:
- Tim Baldwin, owner of both Front Street Brewery and Front Street Pub & Eatery
- Mike Osborn, owner of Miss Mamie’s as well as Mo Brady’s and 1/2 Nelson. Mike brings a bi-state COVID-19 perspective.
- Dan Bush, owner of Armored Gardens; co-owner of Devon’s Complaint Department and Analog
Guest Speaker:
Stacy Kluesner | Vice President, Iowa Restaurant Association (IRA)
The Iowa Restaurant Association is a statewide organization that offers programs and services to protect, promote, advocate, and educate Iowa’s restaurant and tavern industries. Stacy travels the state engaging restaurant and tavern owners in the IRA through membership, special events and advocacy. In addition, Stacy works with member businesses that sell into and serve the industry to connect them with the Association and Association members. She serves as the lead on revenue generation programs for the Association, including Corporate Partner relationships, Member benefit programs, special events, and advertising, as well as assists with revenue for the Iowa Restaurant Association Education Foundation. Prior to her work at the IRA, Stacy spent nearly 20 years in the non-profit world serving in various roles from case & program management to fundraising and served as Executive Director for the I Have A Dream Foundation in Central Iowa.
