The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity created the Rapid Response Layoff Aversion Grant to help essential small businesses keep their employees working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mark Lohman from the American Job Center will present on eligible expenses and how to apply. This webinar is for small business and nonprofits located in Henry, Mercer or Rock Island counties.
- While there is no deadline date to submit an application for funding, this funding opportunity will not last long.
- The funding range is $5,000 to $50,000 per employer per physical location.
- Upcoming expenses, as well as those incurred since the start of the state’s stay-at-home order (March 20), can be reimbursed through this grant.
- Employee payroll and benefits cannot be covered through this funding opportunity.
- Applications will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mark E. Lohman is Executive Director of American Job Center for the Local Workforce Investment Area 13 which includes Henry, Mercer and Rock Island counties since 2012. Prior to being a workforce professional, he has 35 years experience in the private sector. Mark serves on various business and nonprofit boards in the Quad Cities area and nationally.
