Melissa Pepper, President | Total Solutions
Melissa Pepper is a high-energy leader with experience in marketing, public speaking, leadership development, and business development. As President at Total Solutions, she oversees all areas of the business with a special focus on integrating services to meet client needs. In her tenure at Total Solutions, she has led the company’s new brand awareness campaign and added services to their suite of offerings, including an online training platform and marketing services.
Melissa's career path is a unique one; with an English and Communications degree, she started her career as a civil servant for the Illinois Student Assistant Commission (ISAC) and later moved into leadership roles at Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and Lane & Waterman. Within these different workplaces, Melissa’s creative style allowed her to collaborate successfully with stakeholders to ignite change and achieve positive outcomes.
Melissa is the founder of Lead(h)er, the nonprofit mentorship organization that has matched over 350 women with mentors since 2016. Melissa also serves on numerous boards and committees, including Genesis Health System (Board Member), SAL Family and Community Services (Board Member), Genesis Foundation (Board Member), Women United (Co-Chair), Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee (Chair), and IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union (Supervisory Committee). Melissa is a regular columnist for the Quad-City Times’ Voices of the Quad Cities and has been a guest on the Schooled in Business podcast. She is often invited to speak at business and community events, most recently for PR Network, United Way of the Quad Cities, and Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. Melissa graduated summa cum laude from Augustana College and earned her MBA from University of Iowa. She and her husband Dan have two sons, Grayson and Brooks. She enjoys the mom life, strong coffee, long runs, and podcasts.
Sarah Kramer, HR Director | Total Solutions
Sarah has been with Total Solutions since 2015 and has over 10 years of Human Resources experience. She has extensive HR generalist experience working at both large and small employers in industries including manufacturing, transportation, consulting, medical, and retail. Sarah has extensive hands-on experience in leading HR initiatives including policy design, employee handbook creation, performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development, benefits administration, and employee relations.
Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Northern Illinois University. She currently resides in Davenport, IA with her boyfriend Andy and puppy Jack. In her free time she enjoys shopping, podcasts and decorating her home.
