Meet our Presenter:
Michael Negron, Assistant Director | Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DECO)
Michael is a born and raised Illinoisan who has devoted his career to public service. He served in the U.S. Navy after college and worked both in the White House and on Capitol Hill during the depths of the financial crisis. In 2011, Michael returned to Chicago to be a policy advisor to Mayor Rahm Emanuel where he helped raise the minimum wage, create a free community college program for Chicago Public Schools students that graduate with a B average and establish a legal defense fund for undocumented residents. Michael lives with his wife Coral and children - ages 6 and 4 - in North Center. Previously, he was selected as a 2017 Edgar Fellow and as part of Crain's Chicago Business's 2015 40 under 40 class.
