Woodhull Family Fun Fest 5K Run/Festival and Street Dance Entries are now being accepted for the 6th Annual Woodhull Family Fun Fest 5K set for Saturday July 20. The 3.1 Mile run begins at AlWood High School; 301 E 5th Avenue, Woodhull at 8:00 a.m. Early registration fee is $20.00 if received by July 13 and includes a performance t-shirt. After July 13 registration fee increases to $25.00 through the morning of the race; shirt sizes on race day registration are not guaranteed. Entry forms are available online on race calendars at www.cornbelt.org and www.starvedrockrunners.org or call Lindsey Brown at 309-334-2934 or email [email protected]. Race day registration and packet pick-up will begin at 6:45 a.m. and conclude at 7:45 a.m. sharp. The 5K course is flat and fast winding thru the streets of Woodhull and the rural countryside north of town. Awards go to the top three finishers in each Male and Female age division. The top Male and Female Woodhull Finishers and top Male and Female Ridgewood Cross Country Alumni will also earn trophies. Walkers are welcomed and are eligible for all age group awards. 78 Trophies will be awarded in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and new 65 and over category. Results, fruit, drinks, and snacks will be available after the race. Free Family Fun Run (1/4-mile loop) for the little ones w/ free t-shirt and ribbon for the kids. Fun Run set to start at approximately 9:30 a.m. after 5K Trophy Presentations are completed. The race kicks off a day of free events for kids in the park celebrating summer fun (this year including a sanctioned StrongMan Competition) including a pork chop lunch and ice cream social, topped off by supper on Main Street and a Free Admission Street Dance featuring Staggard (8:00 p.m. to Midnight) to round out the evening.
