IMEG awards scholarships to 30 engineering students for 2026-27 school year
ROCK ISLAND, IL--IMEG has awarded 30 scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year to students pursuing engineering degrees, reinforcing the firm's commitment to supporting the next generation of innovators and community builders.
The scholarships were awarded to students in their sophomore through senior years of study. This year's recipients were selected from a record pool of 214 applicants—the highest number since the scholarship program launched in 2023. Applications were reviewed by members of IMEG's Community Involvement Committees from across the United States.
Each recipient received a $10,000 scholarship. IMEG established the program to help talented students overcome financial barriers and pursue careers that will shape the future of our communities, infrastructure, and environment. Since its inception, the program has awarded 123 scholarships.
"Engineering has the power to improve lives, strengthen communities, and create a more sustainable future," said IMEG President and CEO Paul VanDuyne. "These students represent the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders who will help address some of society's most complex challenges. By investing in their education today, we're helping create positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet for years to come."
For many recipients, the scholarship provides more than financial support—it serves as encouragement to continue pursuing their goals and making an impact through engineering.
"As a first-generation student, opportunities like this remind me that my dreams are possible and that the effort and dedication I put into my education matter," said Itzel Hernandez, a civil engineering student at College of Southern Idaho. "I sincerely appreciate your investment in students like me and the difference you are making in our lives."
Five students are repeat scholarship recipients, reflecting their continued academic achievement and commitment to the engineering profession. The 2025-2026 awardees are enrolled at 28 colleges and universities across 20 states.
The record number of applicants highlights both the growing interest in engineering careers and the need for continued investment in future talent. Through its scholarship program, IMEG is helping expand access to engineering education while supporting students who will go on to design, build, and improve the systems and spaces that impact communities every day.
Together, these scholarships represent more than financial assistance—they are an investment in the future engineers whose ideas, innovation, and leadership will help create positive outcomes for generations to come.
