The Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities (Children’s Therapy Center) received $13,427 this September from Klingner & Associates, P.C. (Klingner) – a local engineering, architecture, and land surveying firm – in support of its life-changing programs.
 
The donation, which was presented at Klingner’s company picnic in Quincy, Ill., was the culmination of this year’s Klingner Cares program. Now in its second year, this annual fundraiser unites employees from the firm’s nine locations across Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri to raise money for a local nonprofit. Employees earn points by donating directly to the organization, volunteering in their own communities, or promoting local nonprofits on social media – and every point is matched dollar for dollar by Klingner. Each of Klingner's offices nominated a nonprofit organization, with Children’s Therapy Center selected as this year’s recipient.
 
“We were very happy that Children’s Therapy Center could benefit from the Klingner Cares program,” said Regional Office Manager Luke Miller. “This organization is making specialized therapy accessible in our community, so it’s good to see the rest of the firm rally behind it.”
 
Children’s Therapy Center provides specialized speech, occupational, physical, and feeding therapy services to children across the Quad Cities region. Founded in 1949, the organization serves children of all ages, with a primary focus from birth to age five. Their consistent, positive approach to therapy helps children reach their fullest potential and gives families the tools and support they need.
 
According to Children’s Therapy Center, this donation is the equivalent of therapy for two children for an entire year.
 
“Upon receiving the call about being selected as Klingner's charity of choice we were beyond honored,” said Vice President of Operations, Tim Smith. “To be connected with such an amazing family focused community minded organization is awesome. When the total raised was announced I was so surprised. I had no idea what to expect. Listening to all of the participants’ time and efforts, I was impressed that an entire organization with only one office in our footprint all bonded together to make this happen. We cannot thank the Klingner team members, Tracie Penrod, Luke Miller, and Will and Mike Klingner enough for making this such a success.”
