Melody of Hope Advocacy Center receives grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity of Iowa

Davenport, Iowa – Melody of Hope Advocacy Center has received a grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity of Iowa to fund sensory friendly flooring throughout the new location.
 
Melody of Hope Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization serving Scott County and Eastern Iowa as the children advocacy center to provide prevention, assessment, treatment, and referral services for abused, maltreated, and/or traumatized children and their families. They also specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with behavioral, mental, and developmental disorders.
 
The Variety grant will be used to fund the sensory friendly flooring throughout the new facility. The flooring chosen was done so based on its durability, material, source, and ability to be replaced with minimal impact to overall function. The team of Melody of Hope Advocacy Center was excited with the outcome of the grant proposal and response from Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa.
 
Dr. Barbara Harre, Medical Director of the Center, stated “While it may not be obvious or seem consequential to everyone, it is very important to creating a welcoming, safer, and calming environment for our patients and families. Thank you for your support of the Center.”
