Quad Cities International Airport recorded its busiest month in nearly 13 years in July, as additional airline capacity and strong passenger demand pushed traffic to levels not seen since October 2013.

A total of 69,578 passengers traveled through MLI in July, a 10% increase from 63,319 passengers in July 2025. The last time monthly passenger traffic exceeded July's total was October 2013, when MLI served 70,297 passengers.

The growth comes as airlines continue to add capacity at MLI. Delta Air Lines increased service to Atlanta with a third daily flight, providing travelers with more options to connect through one of the world's largest airline hubs.

United Airlines also continued to see gains following increased frequency to Chicago O'Hare International Airport, giving Quad Cities travelers additional schedule flexibility and access to United's global network.

"Reaching our highest monthly passenger count in nearly 13 years is an important milestone, but what's even more important is what is driving it," said Benjamin Leischner, A.A.E., executive director of Quad Cities International Airport. "Airlines are adding flights and seats in this market, and travelers are responding. Every time someone chooses MLI, they're demonstrating demand for air service in the Quad Cities and strengthening the case for airlines to continue investing here."

Airlines continually evaluate passenger demand, aircraft availability, fares, route performance and other regional economic factors when determining where to add or expand service.
