Benjamin Leischner, A.A.E., executive director of Quad Cities International Airport has been elected to the Board of Directors of Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing airports in the United States and Canada.

The ACI-NA Board of Directors is made up of airport leaders from across North America and helps guide the association’s work on issues and priorities affecting the aviation industry.

“Ben is a respected airport leader who understands both the day-to-day demands of operating an airport and the important role airports play in driving economic growth and strengthening the communities they serve,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “His experience, perspective, and commitment to our industry will be tremendous assets to the ACI-NA Board as we continue working together to advance the priorities of airports across North America.”

Leischner’s election brings the perspective of the QC Airport and other regional airports to conversations shaping the future of all airports across the U.S. and Canada.

“The QC Airport plays an important role in keeping our region connected and competitive, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring that perspective to the ACI-NA Board,” said Leischner. “The challenges and opportunities facing airports ultimately affect the communities we serve, from infrastructure investment to reliable air service and economic growth. Having a voice in those conversations is not only valuable for our airport, but also for the Quad Cities.”

Leischner has served as executive director of Quad Cities International Airport since 2018. During his tenure, he established an ambitious roadmap to enhance the passenger experience, add new amenities and advance a major terminal modernization effort, while renewing the airport’s focus on infrastructure, organizational accountability and its role as an economic engine for the Quad Cities region.
Prior to joining Quad Cities International Airport, Leischner spent seven years at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in positions of increasing responsibility, primarily focused on airline resource allocations and airline affairs. He previously held positions with the Port of Bellingham, Bellingham International Airport and DY Consultants.

Leischner earned a bachelor’s degree in aviation management and flight operations from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska.
