[Davenport, Iowa, December 13, 2019] The Group - Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists, P.C. has been an established practice caring for the community for over 40 years. On Friday, December 13^th, The Group physicians and team presented No Foot Too Small (NFTS) with a check for $50,000 to be used for the new Birthing + Bereavement Suite at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, IA. The suite will be designed to serve and comfort families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal and infant loss. It will include a labor and delivery room, as well as a waiting area for family and friends. This donation is in addition to ‘Group’ team fundraising initiatives totaling $3,733. These initiatives included an internal Family Fun Night Fundraiser, Wine Pull, and ‘It Takes a Village’ T-shirt Fundraiser. This brings The Group total contribution to date to $53,733.
 
Imagine your 20 week ultrasound and learning there is no heartbeat. Where would you want to deliver? Imagine delivering your baby - knowing (s)he will only live a few hours - would you want to be somewhere quiet - somewhere private - to soak up those precious + fleeting moments before your child takes his/her last breath?
 
Birthing + Bereavement Suites don't currently exist in the United States - although they are common place in other parts of the world. We are working to change that. This initiative is being led by Dr. Lyndsey Day of The Group - Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists, P.C. and her husband Kyle Day, Jess & Jenny Buntemeyer, and Dana and Dr. Mark Wilkinson. They, along with NFTS and Genesis are working towards a place where families experiencing infant loss are offered options, privacy, and peace.

This event will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2020 at the Hotel Blackhawk, Autograph Collection in Davenport, IA! The event will feature a cocktail hour, plated dinner, and live music! You will hear from Dr. Lyndsey and Kyle Day, Jess and Jenny Buntmeyer, Angela Kendall of Genesis Health Services Foundation and Robin Boudreau, Founder of NFTS.
 
We welcome all families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss - we are here to celebrate your angels! We welcome the support of like-minded organizations, businesses, and individuals that believe in the same sense of community and our mission to build birthing + bereavement suites. We welcome all of those who are ready to LEAN IN and to connect with NFTS in a philanthropic way that can generate big things!
