We are in a war for skilled workers. Finding and hiring the employees you seek isn’t getting any easier. Maybe it’s time to take a different approach.

Learn best practices from QC business leaders who are connecting with job-seekers and successfully onboarding them into loyal employees.

DEI, employee experience and feeling valued are not hype – it is what workers expect and essential if you are to become an employer of choice.

The forum will be facilitated by Claudia Schabel from Schabel Solutions.

Panelist speakers:
  • Erick Recinos | Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Program Manager | UnityPoint Health – Trinity
  • Dr. Jon Sexton | SVP Culture and Leadership Development, Vibrant Credit Union
  • Sarah A. Wright, CDE (Certified Diversity Executive) | Diversity & Safety Coordinator, Shive-Hattery, Inc.

Forum objectives:

  • To promote the value of DEI
  • To share best practices around workplace culture
  • To glean from the experience of content experts who specialize in DEI and employee experience management
  • To harness the collective input of other working professionals to identify strategies to positively impact workplace inclusion and sense of belonging
Meet our Speakers:

Erick Recinos, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Program Manager | UnityPoint Health - Trinity
Erick is the first born of two immigrant parents from Guatemala, and was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. In 2017, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Life Pacific University and was hired on to a church’s staff as the Young Adult’s Pastor. More recently he has served as DEI Program Manager for UnityPoint Health – Trinity. His passion is to help create opportunities for people to engage and interact with their community, and to cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Dr. Jon Sexton, Senior Vice President of Culture and Leadership Development | Vibrant Credit Union
In his role, Jon focuses on facilitating employee engagement initiatives, developing and facilitating unique leadership development programs and helping to sustain Vibrant’s surprisingly different work culture. As a Gallup Certified Clifton Strengths Coach, Jon facilitates workshops and training sessions to help team members understand how to tap into their natural talents. He also provides executive coaching for leaders to help them identify and leverage the strengths of their teams in order to ensure that staff have an opportunity to do what they do best everyday. In addition to his role at Vibrant, Jon serves as the President for the Association of Talent Development - Mississippi Valley Chapter. Jon earned his Ph.D. in Educational Policy & Leadership Studies and a Master’s in Student Development at the University of Iowa. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central College.

Sarah Wright, CDE, Diversity and Safety Coordinator | Shive-Hattery, Inc.
With decades of experience in convenience retail, Sarah’s passion for meaningful work led her to her current role in shaping strategy for leadership and providing organizational learning. Since joining the firm in 2021, she has worked with architects and engineers to cultivate an inclusive and thriving workplace. Building inclusion and equity programming from the ground floor has taught her never to let the fear of change stop her from doing what's right.
