Ribbon Cutting and Tours - Davenport Central High School Performing Arts Center and Pool
Davenport Central High School will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 24 at 2:30pm to celebrate the completion of the school’s new Performing Arts Center and Pool. Tours will take place every fifteen minutes from 3pm – 5pm.
The pool and performing arts center addition total an additional 62,409 square feet for the historic former Davenport High School.
The new auditorium offers seating for 900 people and includes state-of-the-art lighting and audio technology. The lobby of the auditorium offers a two-story glass front looking out to Downtown Davenport and the Mississippi River. The 8-lane competition pool offers spectator seating for 300 people and will allow the Davenport Community Schools to host larger swim meets.
The project has been funded through a combination of SAVE (Secure an Advanced Vision for Education) and PPEL (Physical Plant and Equipment Levy) funds. SAVE and PPEL are monies outside the General Fund and must be used for construction and renovation purposes.
**Parking will be available in the South lot using Main or Harrison Street entrances.
