This program will talk about the types of organizations that can receive grant funding and how to find and secure funding to grow your bottom line. In addition, a case study of organizations that have used grants to help grow their business will be presented.

If you manufacture for or sell to a nonprofit or government organization – which includes health care organizations, schools, municipalities, parks – or have an innovative product you want to bring to market, you may benefit from grant funding. And if you are one of these organizations, grants can help you find the money to pay for your needed goods and services.

The federal government invests more than $500 billion annually of your tax dollars into projects that meet its objectives. Private funders invest another $97 billion annually into the economy.

While most people think of nonprofit organizations when they think of grant recipients, government entities and for-profit businesses – especially in manufacturing, construction, technology, and telecommunications – can also reap the benefits of these billions of dollars. These dollars are going to someone; why not you?

Meet our Speakers:

M. Linda Wastyn, Ph.D., CFRE, GPC, President, Wastyn & Associates

Linda has nearly 35 years of grant writing and fundraising experience that began at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and continued at Bridgewater College in Virginia and St. Ambrose University. She opened Wastyn & Associates in August 2011 to provide grant development, fundraising consultation, strategic planning facilitation, and board development to nonprofit and for-profit companies in the Quad Cities and around the country. Since its founding, Wastyn & Associates has worked with more than 140 organizations, raising more than $10 million and helping countless others chart their future direction.

Lynette McLaughlin, Senior Consultant for Research Services

Lynn specializes in grant research, Internet-based research and library research for large nonprofit organizations, small volunteer organizations, and for-profit enterprises. She began her professional experience as a market researcher for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company in Chicago. Her more than 20 years of prospect research experience began at Barnes Jewish Hospital Foundation in St. Louis, MO, where she established the prospect research department. From there, Lynn spent 11 years as the Assistant Director of Prospect Research at St. Ambrose University. She joined the Wastyn & Associates team in 2012.
