The YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley will hold a groundbreaking on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM for their LeClaire YMCA Project. The groundbreaking will be located on Eagle Ridge Rd near Welcome Center Dr in LeClaire, IA.

The YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art fitness facility in LeClaire.

The nearly $18 million project, funded jointly by the City of LeClaire and the YMCA, aims to meet a growing demand for fitness and recreational services in this part of the Quad Cities. Pool, basketball court, river views planned for new LeClaire YMCA

The facility will offer a wide range of amenities, including:

Aquatics area with a lap pool and group water exercise space
Full-court basketball gym
Weight room with brand-new equipment
Walking/running track spanning the second floor
Group exercise area
Cardio space overlooking the Mississippi River
EGYM, a popular smart training system

“The City of LeClaire has done a number of surveys over the last few years asking residents what their priorities are for recreational amenities. The top answer is consistently a need for a new recreation facility, including a pool. The Y is the perfect solution and perfect partner for the City. The Y is known as a place that builds strong bodies, strong minds, and strong communities,” LeClaire Mayor Dennis Gerard said in a press release. “We’re excited to get started with this project, bringing quality fitness and recreation to the residents of our city and beyond.”
Work on the new LeClaire YMCA is set to begin in summer 2025, with an expected opening in November 2026.
